Technical Assistance SEARCH assistance is funded primarily through two grants from the Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice.

  • Technical Assistance for Criminal History Improvement
    SEARCH offers assistance toward the development of effective information management policies to improve the quality, completeness and immediate accessibility of criminal histories and related information, as well as ensuring the nationwide implementation of criminal justice and non-criminal justice background check system.
  • Tribal Violence Prevention Technical Assistance
    SEARCH offers on-site or in-house technical assistance to support Tribal jurisdictions’ efforts to develop program initiatives and activities or improve Tribal record systems and processes. This includes the collection, sharing, and use of criminal history records, as well as encompassing efforts to address cultural sensitivities to information sharing and privacy concerns.
